Inspired by Taiwanese indigenous culture, Kamaro’an explores authentic craftsmanship through minimalist design.
The name Kamaro’an originates from Pangcah, an indigenous language, it means “the place to live”. Each of our products is made by hand in our studio by skilled indigenous weavers.
Our studio was founded in 2015 by Tipus, Shane and Yun, we each specialize in indigenous culture research and industrial design.
We appreciate the handcrafts of everyday object, that reflects Pangcah’s way of living in harmony with nature. And fall in love with the nonfancy but practical weaving technique, that accomplishes daily needs. We aim to continue the old days techniques with modern aesthetics.
Kamaro’an celebrate the uniqueness, timelessness and precision that hands can bring to life.
The materials and supplies are carefully sourced from local manufacturers in Taiwan. All materials are in line with environmental sustainability.
